Start with true search competitors
A business competitor may not be the site you compete with in Google. Identify domains that repeatedly appear for the query families you care about.
Find recurring themes
Look for topics several relevant competitors cover, queries they rank for that align with your audience, and pages that expose useful subtopics.
Validate every lead
Check intent, topical fit and SERP strength before adding a destination. A competitor can rank for subjects that do not belong on your site.
